Mamma Mia!

This saccharine Broadway show-turned-film hits home video as a two-disc set with loads of special features. You can choose to watch the film unadulterated or with karaoke-style subtitles - which were added to the film's later weeks of theatrical release - for all 22 songs in Mamma Mia!. In addition, a bonus song, "The Name of the Game," is included. The second disc of the set has a whole slew of features, including an overall look at the making of the movie and a featurette on filming in Greece. Most interesting is the piece on the anatomy of blocking and choreographing a scene, which requires a lot more work than might be expected of a short dance sequence.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor

The second sequel to The Mummy also arrives as a two-disc set. On disc one, director Rob Cohen provides commentary on the film and there is the typical set of deleted and extended scenes. Disc two is far more in-depth, with a number of featurettes looking into the creation of the film. The best involves the process of creating Jet Li's mummy Emperor Han. The process involved a very lengthy and involved run of CGI, part of which included Li making a slew of silly faces with reference dots so they could be mapped onto the terra cotta version of his character.

The Mummy: The Animated Series - Volumes 1-3

These three separately released discs collect the two seasons of the show, which aired on the WB from 2001 to 2003. The series doesn't quite carry over the fun factor the three films used to gross over $1 billion worldwide. In terms of special features, the discs are barebones. Volume one has short character bios,; volume two has some short text about people, places and things in ancient Egypt; and volume three has no special features. Some of the episodes are entertaining, but these discs are just for the hardcore Mummy fans out there.
