In the Graduation Success Rate report released yesterday by the NCAA, the Terrapin men's basketball team ranked last among all of Division I schools with a score of zero.
The score measures how many freshmen who entered the program between 1997 and 2000 graduated within six years. According to a story from The (Baltimore) Sun, the Terps scored the lowest in the nation - none of the 10 players included in the report graduated within the six-year time frame.
The score represented a drop from 18 from the previous report, which covered 1996-1999. The GSR is different from the Academic Progress Rate, which carries penalties when a school scores too low.
