The Terrapins men’s lacrosse team will conclude its fall season with two events Saturday.
The day will begin with the third annual Forever Walk/Run For Pancreatic Cancer Awareness and Research in honor of Maria Young — the mother of former Terps All-American Ryan Young — who passed away from pancreatic cancer on April 17, 2011 after battling the disease for more than three years.
Registration starts at 9 a.m. at the West Gate of Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium.
Forever Young t-shirts will also be available for $20. All proceeds will do to the Lustgarten Foundation, a pancreatic cancer research foundation based in Bethpage, N.Y., that was a helpful resource to Young during her fight.
Then the Terps' annual Alumni Game will be held at 1 p.m.
Many of the Terps most recent graduates, including Jake Bernhardt (Ohio Machine), Owen Blye (Charlotte Hounds), Landon Carr (Denver Outlaws) and Kevin Cooper (Chesapeake Bayhawks), as well as other current or former MLL players, including Ray Megill (Ohio Machine), Paul Gillette (Boston Cannons) and Scott Larue (Charlotte Hounds), will be participating.
