Standout Terrapins women's basketball forward Alyssa Thomas accepted an invitation to USA Basketball's training camp in Las Vegas, Nev., according to a Thursday release.

Thomas was one of just six college players invited to try out for the 2014 World Championship Team and 2016 Olympic Team. In total, 30 players were invited to the camp.

Thomas put together one of the best seasons in women's basketball history last year, leading the ACC in points per game (18.8), rebounds per game (10.3) and assists per game (5.3). That feat had never been accomplished at the NCAA or WNBA levels.

The Terps are ranked No. 5 in some early preseason polls, and they return four of five starters in addition to bringing on a top recruiting class of four freshmen. Last year, the Terps advanced to the Sweet 16.
