FROM THE CARTOONIST: My editorial cartoon published yesterday has been regretfully misinterpreted by a number of readers. I, along with the entire university community, am relieved that Pete DeSouza is expected to make a full recovery from his recent accident. The cartoon's message was meant purely as a commentary on campus safety. It was not at all my intention to make light of his injuries, nor to mock him personally in any way. I extend my apologies to anyone who was offended or upset by the cartoon.
