Three students were robbed outside the Clarion Hotel at Route 1 and Berwyn Road early Friday, and police quickly arrested two of the three alleged muggers, the students said.

 

The students — three Diamondback editors — were getting into a car in the hotel's parking lot at about 12:45 a.m. Friday when three men wearing black clothing came up to the car and grabbed them, they said.

 

The students fought the men, one of whom appeared to have a gun, but the men made off with one student's purse and another's necklace, and two of the students suffered minor injuries, they said.

 

Prince George's County Police arrested two men shortly afterward in connection with the mugging, the students said, and officers told the students they expected to catch the third.

 

No further information was immediately available following the incident.
