A university student reported that he believes an unknown male pointed a handgun at him around 2:30 a.m. yesterday, police said.

The student was walking on Stadium Drive near Stadium Drive Garage when he saw a silver vehicle parked about 100 feet away with two male occupants inside, according to University Police spokesman Capt. Marc Limansky. The student reported to police 19 hours later that he thought he saw one of the men pointing a handgun at him.

The student ran to Ellicott Hall, where he lives and looked out a window and saw that the silver vehicle was still parked at the garage's entrance, but the student did not call police until 9:30 p.m. yesterday, Limansky said. He was not able to provide specific information about the make of the vehicle or the men inside.

University Police officials are investigating the incident, Limansky said.
