Four-year-old sent to local hospital with minor injuries, county police say

The scene outside R.J. Bentley’s was quiet just one hour after a 4-year-old was struck by a car yesterday.

A 4-year-old was struck by a car near the intersection of Route 1 and Knox Road yesterday evening while crossing the street with an adult, Prince George's County Police said.

The child was transported to the hospital with minor injuries, District 1 Commander Maj. Robert Brewer said. As many as four county cruisers blocked off the road in front of R.J. Bentley's Monday evening around 5 p.m. Traffic was clear an hour later.

The driver did not flee the scene and cooperated fully with police, Brewer said.
