Although College Park is often best known for its bars and nightlife scene, few people actually know that several small trendy boutiques are sprinkled throughout downtown, offering a wide range of shopping options to students and residents.
Instead of driving to a nearby mall or shopping online, check out some of these local gems in the university's backyard that are tailored for students and their style.
Ke'Chic Boutique — Located on the corner of Lehigh Road and Yale Avenue, Ke'Chic Boutique offers students several trendy products, such as 7 brand jeans and a selection of shoes that any serious shopper would appreciate. Check out this shop if you're looking for a new outfit for a Friday night; with its accessories and wide assortment of apparel, you can find a complete outfit in one stop.
On Cloud 9 — For students looking for formal wear, On Cloud 9 is the go-to spot in College Park. Located on College Avenue, the store's friendly atmosphere welcomes many sorority members from the surrounding houses. Although its apparel is sometimes more expensive than other shops, owner Carol Gowling only buys a few of each product to ensure buyers have unique styles. The store also offers several options for either going out or going to class, ranging from dresses to T-shirts.
Rugged Warehouse — Although it may be a well-known chain, Rugged is often the best place to go for students who need a quick fashion fix on a budget. Whether you're looking for a new pair of pajamas, a quality pair of jeans or a pair of shoes, Rugged offers a wide selection of cost-friendly products.
There is also an extensive section for men and some home furnishings sold, as well.
The University Shop — If you're looking to show off your university or Greek life spirit, check out The University Shop in the College Park Shopping Center next to RadioShack.
It offers apparel and gifts for almost every sorority and fraternity on the campus. If you're looking to welcome a new member to your Greek organization, The University Shop is the perfect place to buy a custom paddle and everything needed to decorate it.
