Prince George's County Police are looking for a Northwest Washington man in connection with last week's mugging of three students and an alumna in the parking lot of the Clarion Hotel, police said.
Police arrested Makthe Ndongo, 22, of Greenbelt, and a 15-year-old juvenile accomplice shortly after the Aug. 27 mugging, and both were charged with two counts of robbery.
Officers were then able to identify Theo Davis, 23, as the third suspect in the incident, and though he remained at large last night, Maj. Robert Liberati said police expect to find him soon.
"The investigator staff working on this case is confident they will locate him in the next few days," he said.
Davis is suspected of assaulting a student and threatening her with a handgun as he allegedly stole her purse. A group of three men had mugged the students — three Diamondback editors — as they got into a car about 12:45 a.m. outside EJ's Landing at Route 1 and Berwyn Road.
The two arrested suspects would not identify their companion, but police were able to gather evidence from the scene and statements from witnesses over the weekend to identify him, Liberati said.
Ndongo was released on bond Aug. 28, a day after he was arrested and charged, Liberati said. He could not say whether the unidentified juvenile has been released from custody.
