301-405-3333

The emergency number for University Police. Calling 911 from a cell phone will put you through to the Prince George's County Police, who deal with off-campus crime in College Park. If you're in a pinch, 911 will always work, but this number goes directly to the University Police.

301-314-2255

The Department of Transportation Services' automated NextBus service. Just type in the five-digit code posted at a university bus stop and it will use GPS to tell you how long it will be until the bus arrives. Particularly useful during storms to check how far away a bus is from your dorm's bus stop. Also available online and as a smart phone application.

301-314-8184

The number to make an appointment at the University Health Center. You can also make appointments for many services at www.myuhc.umd.edu.

301-314-NITE (6483)

The Department of Transportation Services' Nite Ride service, which operates between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. and is designed to pick up students in areas of the campus that aren't on the evening bus routes.
