Terp men’s basketball freshman center Jordan Williams was arrested last month in his hometown of Torrington, Conn., on breach of peace and assault charges. Saturday, he turned himself in, was released and is awaiting a court date on Oct. 5 in Connecticut. Details of the arrests – there were four others who were arrested in connection with the incident – have not been disclosed because the warrant was sealed, according to The Register Citizen News. The alleged incident occured on Aug. 8. Williams, a 6-foot-10 frontcourt player and the No. 85-ranked recruit in the nation by Rivals.com, has a chance to contribute right away to the Terps, who lost forward Dave Neal to graduation after last season.
