Terrapins football defensive coordinator Brian Stewart is guaranteed $350,000 annually over the next two seasons, according to a copy of his contract.

Stewart, who was announced as Todd Bradford's replacement two weeks ago, has a base salary of $262,500 for next season and will receive an additional $87,500 in incentives for a wide range of responsibilities, including radio and television appearances.

Stewart's guaranteed salary equals that of Bradford, whose three-year contract was bought out earlier this month after a disappointing debut season in College Park. Stewart's two-year deal means all Terps assistants are signed on through at least the 2013 season.

In addition to his salary and other incentives, which could include bonuses of up to $110,000 based on the Terps' academic performance and postseason success, Stewart will receive $15,000 in relocation assistance and $7,440 annually for car and phone allowances. He can also earn a $20,000 bonus if he's named the national assistant coach of the year during his tenure.

Stewart, the defensive coordinator at Houston for the past two seasons, plans to install a 3-4 scheme this season with the Terps, who allowed the 13th-most yards per game in the nation last year.
