The list of offseason departures from the Terrapins football program grew to eight yesterday, as the team announced wide receiver Adrian Coxson had been released from his scholarship and defensive lineman Cody Blue said he also would not return next season.

Coxson, a freshman from Baltimore, joined the Terps prior to the 2010 season after beginning his collegiate career at Florida. He played primarily special teams in his nine games of action, and he finished the season with four catches for 90 yards and a touchdown.

"We appreciate everything that Adrian has done for us and hope everything works out for him in his future endeavors," coach Randy Edsall said in a release.

Blue, who told The Baltimore Sun on Tuesday he intends to transfer, was suspended for the team's season opener for an undisclosed violation of team rules. Upon his return, the sophomore switched from the offensive line to the defensive line and appeared in four games. He had five tackles this year.

With Blue's departure, all four underclassmen who were suspended this season — Blue, running back D.J. Adams, fullback Rahsaan Moore and defensive end David Mackall — have left the program.
