Terrapin women’s soccer midfielder Molly Dreska has become a serious scoring threat for the team in just two games.

The redshirt junior, after scoring the game’s lone goal last weekend against James Madison, added two more Friday night against Brown.

With the goals, the Terps pulled out a 3-1 win and extended their best start in 13 years.

Dreska now has three goals in the past two games for the Terps, the only three of her career.

Her first against the Bears came in the 29th minute when she stole the ball from a Brown defender and launched a shot from 40 yards out. The ball whipped into the upper left corner of the goal.

For only the third time this season the Terps notched a goal in the first half. The team never relinquished the lead with the help of Dreska.

Five minutes into the second half, Dreska came through again for the Terps. Forward Jasmyne Spencer pushed the ball through two Brown defenders and fell down in the box before attempting. She quickly regained herself and touched the ball back to Dreska who finished the push.

Moments afterward, Brown provided a scare when Terps goalkeeper Mary Casey misjudged a ball played by the Bears. After coming up, Casey was beat by Diana Ohrt and allowed her first goal in four games.

Spencer ended any hope of a Bears comeback when she scored in the 85th minute. Forward Danielle Hubka played a ball in the box, which Spencer easily tapped in for her fifth goal of the year.

By beating Brown, the Terps defeated every non-conference foe this season and will head into ACC play with a top-10 ranking.
